What’s in a name? Clearly more than any of us realized.
Strong safety Troy Polamalu officially changed his name this week. He changed it to “Troy Polamalu.”

Unbeknownst to essentially 6 billion people in this world (translation: doggone near every one of us), Troy’s real name was Troy Benjamin Aumua — until this week, that is. He took his mother’s maiden name after his parents divorced, and he finally made it legal yesterday. His full name is now Troy Aumua Polamalu. His jersey will continue to read exactly as it had — not as if anyone of us has seen his name on his jersey in at least three years…
